Hey y'all,

Here's a link to some authorized concert recordings the New Riders of the Purple Sage that you can download. These are complete shows, from the early 70's to mid 70's. Several of them feature Buddy Cage on PSG.

The shows are in .zip archives, and they are compressed with the 'shorten' format, which is a method of compression that doesn't compromise the audio quality like mp3's, real audio or wma files. Here is a link to a freeware utility that will allow you to drag-n-drop the shorten files and have them decode to WAV files, which you can then burn to cd.

I am not associated with either site in anyway, just came accross it and thought I'd spread the word. And hear some great steel playing as well.

(edited to correct spelling)(twice!)(thrice, b0b, is there a spellcheck utility!?)

These are all great shows, and the tapes are excellent. The mixes are killer. You have to download the utility to expand them, then you can burn the CD's. The only problem is the download time-even with a cable hookup, it's a couple of hours.

But man, what a monster Cage is....

I use and recommend this freebie: http://www.iespell.com/ BTW, it suggests that "spellcheck" is two words.
