I was thrilled to hear this song on CMT and the local radio station... anyone heard it yet??... I'm more of a rocker actually but I LOVE a good country tune and I INSTANTLY went ga ga over hearing some REAL country for a change!!.. Pretty nice Match Bro playing on the tune too. To me, a man who's been "washed in the Blood" for many years.. the phrase "cling to the Father and His Holy Name" sends chills up and down my spine... never thought I'd hear something like this on a "pop" radio station... GREAT stuff.... bob

"Long Black Train" is a great country, gospel song.
Mike Johnson plays his Ped-a-bro so pretty!
I also heard it today on one of our country stations here in Nashville.

I too am impressed with thi s cut. I feel the "STEEL" influence is there as well as a little "GOSPEL" and some really good"SIMPLE C-W style singing. Maybe this will start a trend back to C-W like it used to be. Ed Naylor Steel Guitar Works.

I've been meanging to ask about that song and artist. I've seen the video a time or two on GAC and was always impressed by Josh's voice and that song.

This tracked 'jumped' out of my radio yesterday! It sounded like pure gold against all the mediocrity they were playing.

I've got to get this CD - what with Joe Nichols, and now Josh, there may be a glimmer of hope that music could rule the air-waves someday....

I guess that is one advantage of living close to Nashville. Long Black Train has been playing for a few months around here. I've had my CD for over a month. Some good steel on it.

Also check out Jeff Bates / Rainbow Man. He's a good voice with a lot of Conway Twitty infuence. He could fill the Conway gap to some extent. He's good and so is the CD.
