Did the instruments sound authentic, or more authentic because they were played on steel (and able to bend strings) as it said in the article?
No, they sounded odd to me.

Jody Sanders - Thank you. I'm looking forward to studying "Tommy Dorsey Boogie" and "Twin Steel Boogie".

Now, to the rest of you - the mention of Al's name stirs up quite a hornet's nest among some of you. The humor I appreciate, given the circumstances of Al's imprisonment. But I have to agree with the camp that feels that Al has received his judgment, and that is that.

My personal feeling is that a great number of my musician friends are fairly eccentric. It's guys like Al who help make my eccentric friends appear a bit more normal.

Heres my opinion, based on one live tape.

His "Guitarorchrestra" sounded like a Roland Midi Pickup played by an intermediate player on a standard guitar.

He played Amazing Grace and similar tunes.
Pipe Organ sounds, Bells, etc.
If you never heard MIDI you might be impressed.

I suspect driving his Rolls Royce to court wasn't a wise move.
