An interesting fact I noticed:

Many famous players appear on records, playing other instruments:

Buddy Emmons on Bass and Lead Guitar
Jimmy Day on Bass
Jerry Byrd on Guitar and Bass
Stu Basore on Bass
Russ Hicks on Lead Guitar

To be continued!

Russ Hicks also plays a mean bass guitar....
He showed his bass playing abilities at the NTSGA Christmas party last week.

If he ever decides he can't make it as a Steel player,I will give him the chance to play with our outfit as a bass player. Of course, we will not be able to pay him anything as we only make enought to re-place strings and picks. And...... (This is a big demand) he must include the singing abilities of his soulmate (aka Lanie)as a part of the package should he decide to take us up on our offer....

Hey, we love ye, Russ....

Have a wonderful Christmas season & a good New year.

Jeff Newman used to tell the story of one of his first sessions in Nashville where, after setting up, he noticed that the bass player was Emmons and the guitar player was Chalker....
