Well the Christmas season is here and I always my wife Mrs. Santa for a steel guitar product, mainly a video. I have the Emmons/Rugg video as well as the Emmons 1986 video, Hal Rugg and Herby Wallace, and the Herby Wallace video as well as Tommy White/Lloyd Green video. I am wondering are there any other videos that are not instruction videos on the market. I have almost wore the Emmons/Rugg video out playing it so much I will have to order another one somewhere down the line. I am looking for something for my listening and watching pleasure. Any info would certainly be appreciated.

Paul,

I would like to get the information, too! Compared to the 100's and 100's of hours at various Steel Shows all over the country, there is only a ridiculously small number of concert videos out on the market. Has anybody an explanation for that? Is it copyright problems? Or the cost of the production?

One hint for you: There is a video from the Australian Steel Guitar Convention featuring Joe Wright and Sarah Jory, almost three hours long, really great! I bought my copy at Al Brisco's, no idea where else to get it. Al's website is www.steelguitarcanada.com

Paul, Mike Sweeney has a playing video out. The video was recorded in Bristol, VA in October. There are several good tunes on the video and Mike plays very well on both the E9th and C6th necks.

We have videos of the Gospel Steel Show going back to 1997. Each is about 2 hours long and features some of the well known players such as Doug Jernigan, Hal Rugg, John Hughey, Herby Wallace, Junior Knight, as well as many regional players. Each year is different and features a variety of players. The 2003 also comes in DVD. You can go to our web site to order at www.gospelsteel.com

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys for the replies. I do have most of the Gospel videos on hand and I have received a couple e-mails about some videos. Now if Mrs. Santa will hand over the cash I will be ready to place an order.

I have the Emmons Live in Boston concert video and CD from '78. It's an amazing show. Too bad the picture quality is poor, but you can still see the master doing his thing. The audio on the video is good and the audio on the CD is very good. E-mail me if you're interested.
