..eh...recording

Well, I often sit down and record "sketches" of little tunes I come up with...here's the newest one! Unfortunately I had to record without my (broken ) vol. pedal, so it lacks some sustain here and there...and just excuse my kinda flipped out improvised ending... Would appreciate some feedback!

here it is!

Very well done! I found this particular piece to be very "Lloyd-ish" and was very pretty. My personal taste only- I found the rapid notes in the middle to distract from the mood and shortly thereafter maybe there was just a bit too much movement of the notes~ just my personal taste. I would enjoy hearing more of your playing, Niklas!

I agree with Jim.

You have a very nice touch. I would suggest a little less moving tone notes underneath the melody. I realize the temptation. However Jeff's words of wisdom, "less is more" is appropo here, IMO.

Hey, thanks for the quick responses! Listening to it afterwards, I realize I "overplayed" this one a bit... I usually gets that way when playing around for a while, like that improvised fast parts - it really shouldn't be there! thanks again!

Nicke, I must have missed some of the download. I didn't hear any fast notes or anything my humble opinion good take away from the few notes I heard. Great tone and touch, But like the others said, I would like to hear more. Thanks.\

I enjoyed it a lot. In fact, because it's a just psg with a rythum section, I enjoyed the movement of the lower notes. It sounds fuller and adds a dimension you don't normally get with a full band.

Did someone say MORE? I'll agree with that.

Amazingly beautiful, especially without a volume pedal! If you hadn't told us that, I might never have even noticed.

FABULOUS!! IMO, there is nothing in here but terrific taste and touch. There are plenty of copiers but very few true originals. I think Niklas has the potential to be an original. Any piece of work is always subject to some criticism, and especially from an unknown, and especially from someone who's been playing for what, 3 YEARS!!! If I was Niklas, (which I'm not), I wouldn't touch a thing unless I wanted to change it. The fast notes SHOULD be in there, because that's how he heard the piece in his head. What I would do is not remove them, but consider them part of my interpretative abilities and by doing so, continually refine them as part of my toolkit. It is way, way more impressive for him to be making a personal statement like this then following some prescribed norm as to what should or shouldn't be done. Niklas, you are so on the right track. Congratulations on a wonderful piece!

Very nice work Niklas. It would have been quite sweet with the pedal available for sustains.
The fast part was quite clean. I think it is the nucleous of a slightly reduced part of the same type there. And the coda was a nice improv, very western swing.

Takes a real gutsy guy to record or even play without his volumn pedal. I salute you O Man Of Steel, with a Dangling Right Foot.
