Driving in this morning, on the local college station I heard a beautiful version of Cryin' Time Again by the great Wanda Jackson and Elvis Costello. There was some mighty sweet pedal steel all the way through and featured on a turn around. Anyone know who that was? Sure was great to hear mature and pure country music like this on that college station that plays so much angsty, juvenile, unmusical stuff otherwise. (I'm sure it's not that I'm too old and mellow for that station, right? )

A quick search says that John McFee is indeed on another cut of this Wanda Jackson CD entitled Heart Trouble so I'd call it a good bet that Randy wins the grand prize.

Well, John McFee done good, as did Wanda, and well, okay, maybe Elvis Costello was okay too, for a non-country singer.
