I didn't know he had left Spain. Emmett's full of surprises. He was in Spain months before I knew he even had plans on becoming a European.
Whereever you are Em I hope you're ok.

His e-mail came back to me this week, I did hear from him last week, but he made no mention of any change ie: moving back to Texas or health etc.

He's got to be somewhere, he couldn't have just vanished.

He had dropped me an email that he would be moving to Corpus - to arrive around Oct 15th. He was going to get in touch with me when he arrived - but I haven't heard from him as of yet....?

Ain't that nice. They wait months here for the US to process the paperwork, they get the OK.
But then some dimbulb at customs thinks one " i " isn't dotted right.

They were intentionally doing all the paperwork corectly as instructed, with her out of the country as instructed.
All so his legal wife could come live there.
She isn't vaguely islamist, but a foriegner.
C'est juste le merde!!

The level of paranoia is astounding. Whether or not the USA is the promised land or not, a legally married couple shouldn't be forced to go though this.

Yeah this is really terrible news.
Emmett and his wife Rachael are really a cute couple, and Emmett is just about as "American" as they come. I wish them better luck next time! Although I have to admit, the area they live in Spain is one of the prettiest places I've ever seen! Right below the "Costa Brava" on the Mediterrainian right above Barcelona. Gorgeous! Also, the two honky tonks in that area are more into REAL country music than any place around these parts for sure. BUT...Emmett really wants to come back, and he should be allowed to!!!

CrowBear...do you think you could email me Tony's E-address (or Pep's from the same club)..I lost it, and I wanted to thank them for the nice time I had there this summer with Heather Myles.

I met Emmet at the Jambalaya (the honky tonk mentioned above)about 4 weeks ago when I played there with Dallas Wayne. You`re right; Emmet is a great guy and the Jambalaya is a great place to play. I hope everything works out,Emmet!!!It was nice meeting you!

I was more than a bit pissed when I heard this. I know that imigration and naturalization has a very tough job in this present climate.

But I also know Emmet and Rachel were living in Spain and doing everything right to get her residency in the US. No exceeding the 3 month limit, no BS.

That they have waited and done what they were told to do,
and then AGAIN she is turned back after an expensive flight... well the french have a word for thisd
"Unsupportable" ; and this really fits here.

Here's the Update:

Hi Folks.

i want to thank each of you individually so very much for your concern.
If Tony had'nt emailed me, i probably would'nt heve even checked the Forum.
When i did i was greeted with a pleasant sight...knowing you guys, i can't say i was surprised; it's just that i had'nt felt like cruising the Forum lately and had missed the boat completely.

On the downside, the folks at INS saw fit to seperate from the most important person in my life up to this point because of a technicality.
Of course i was assured that everyone there was just doing their job protecting the country and keeping the bad guys out.
After waiting 3 hours in the airport lobby, i was informed that Rachel was being "turned around" back to Spain and was allowed to tell her goodbye on the phone before they chained her up for the night and flew her out the next afternoon.

On the upside, i have gotten to spend a little time with my sons and my mother, and move our belongings to the custody of my best friend who has put me up (and put up w: me) during a very trying ordeal and helped me avoid sinking any further into depression.

At times like this, it's quite easy to forget how many friends you have, so i'm asking each of you to forgive me for that and bear with me.

The good news is that i'll go back to Barcelona this coming week to be w: my beloved Rachel, my wonderful in-laws, and my great students and friends there until we can please the powers-that-be and get our life in Texas back.

Please give me a few more days and i'll write you a wonderful yayhoos & saddle pals one-on-one...until then, God bless and keep each of you, and thanx again from both of us for supporting us when we really needed it.

Y'alls amigo
Emmett
