Does anyone know who recorded "Stumblin'" on steel? I think Les Paul did it on guitar and I'm pretty sure I've heard it on steel. I'd like to have chord chart of it or better still a BIAB track! |

Sonny.....
Russ Hicks has that cut on one of his latest CDs. I don't know if it is "Russ Hicks Picks" or "2 Mile Pike", but it sure is a great cut by a great player.

Merele Haggard and his band did this years ago. It might still be floating around somewhere. I have a copy but it's used and abused from a second hand dub. |

You will find a midi file I made from a BIAB track here:
http://users.interlinks.net/rebel/download/stumbling.html
If you want to import to BIAB from the midi file, bass is on track 2, chording on tracks 3 and 7, drums on track 10.

Sonny:
No technology required. Right click on the name of the midi and download it to a directory on your hard drive. Open BIAB and click on File, then Import chords from midi file. In the box that opens, click on Open(Change) and select the midi from the directory you put it in. It will open in BIAB as a BIAB track.
Tried to put the BIAB track up for downloading but when I tested it, it came out screwed up so I changed it to a midi file.
If you still have trouble with this, let me know and I will try re-doing the BIAB file and see if it comes out ok then.

I've heard many versions of "Stumblin" and even do my own version of it on guitar but the best rendition I've ever heard of it by anyone would have to be by the great LA picker Al Bruno. Al really nailed this one for sure. I think he had a recording of it but it's probably out of print. If you ever see him live anywhere, get him to do it for you. It's mind boggling to say the least. Just ask JayDee..... Have a good 'un. JH
