This evening Prairie Home Companion featured a couple of songs by a new name to me--Becky Schlegel--sort of a folk/bluegrass/singer-songwriter fusion. Not bad. I heard (and saw, via webcast) some low profile nice steel. Her website lists her band but no steel. She's local Minn., I think. Anybody know who this might have been?
BTW--Jeannie Kendall also appeared. Not bad with a nice reso player in the group. After all these years her voice is still thin and kinda irritating after more than a couple of tunes. |

Garrison Kiellor announced the steeler's name about one tune into the show (the shoe band was playing...) but I forgot it. If you listen to the archive of the show it's right near the beginning.... |
