hey b0bby,
i played at the twin oaks outside petaluma last weekend....guitarist glen cable says he played there a lot in his younger days and figured you had too. i guess it hasn't changed much...what with that shallow stage you can't get away from your amp on.
otherwise, it's a pretty cool roadhouse.

Hey Chris, I played quite a few weeks outside of Petaluma on the old road to Santa Rosa.

I can't remember the name, Green Lantern? or somthing like that. That was over 35 years ago, though...Happy 4th..al

The Twin Oaks, also affectionatly known as the Twin Jokes! I've played there too many times but not as many as Bob Lee. Actually it's nice knowing that there is a venue in northern CA that you can play classic country at and get a nice response.

Chris, who are you playing with at Smiley's?

dave...it was a blast...playing with buddy craig, a deranged singer/guitar player/writer. his cd is titled 'midlife chrysler'..great acoustic picking..bluegrass to jazzy weirdness to straight country. he calls it psychobilly slam grass. the cd has some great dobro by rob ickes and steel by robs brother. fiddle by joe craven of david grisman fame. we usually have buddy on amplified acoustic, me on pedalsteel, a drummer and bass player. for some reason, people dig it!

The Twin Oaks was my living room in the 1980's. It's all a blur to me now (I used to drink heavily), but you're right - it hasn't changed much. I did a few gigs there last year with Manzanita Moon.

Chris,
I also know the Twin Oaks well.
About four or five years ago, I played with a band that was the house band and played there every weekend for about 6 months. Since we left some equipment there, we even practiced some times during the week. I still play there on occasions with different bands, but most of my gigs take me to other locations recently. As a matter of fact, let me know the next time you're there, I have a bunch of those orange free drink tokens you can have.

I heard of Buddy Craig. I hear he is quite a picker (and derranged)! I think I spoke to him once on the phone years ago. He was flyin'!

Let us know when you're playing in Sonoma County so me and the Mrs. can come see y'all!

Played the Twin Oaks Many times in the old days...maybe with b0b.
The other club down the road was the Green Mill. Played there with b0b and many other fine players..... The Green Mill generally pulled a little older crowd because of the dining room.

Sorry I can't make it to Healdsburg. I'm in LA with The Mother Truckers. Keep me posted. I would like to check it out.

Have a good show!
