This has likely been answered before, so I apologize. Just wondering who played steel on this Eric Clapton song. Was it JD Maness?

JayDee for sure!

Clapton had him play simple parts.
Later Clapton blended his guitar into the mix. A lot of people don't even know there's steel on the song.

JayDee does a steel rendition of the entire Tears In Heaven song at the end of his 1st instructional video. Very nice.

If you've ever been to a St Louis or Dallas you've heard forumite Chuck Lettes do a fantastic version of this as well.

I definitely have to echo JB's comment. Chuck does a "masterful" job on Clapton's "Tears From Heaven" on E9th. I LOVE it everytime I hear it!! Chuck really makes his Mullen "sing"!!
