| I recently came across a great Dickens album that I didn't know existed.It is titled Jimmy Dickens Greatest Hits .Dated in 1969 .The album can be seen on a recent ebay auction #2531233854 It contains some great steel playing.WOW!!!Who's the steel player?? |

| I think this album came along after Walter .I'm thinking more of Doug Jernigan,but I'm not what sure what years he played with Jim.If anyone doesn't have this album pick up a copy off ebay.You wont be sorry.Thanks |

I don't have documented evidence to back it up. But I'm familar with a song that Little, Jimmy Dickens came out with during that time period titled "A Death In The Family." Eddie Stubbs has played this song many times on his show, and gives credit to Curly Chalker (may have the spelling wrong) as the steel player on that cut. Without hearing the album in question, wouldn't want to say for sure. But it's possible that Curly played steel on the album that you're speaking of.

| Curly really brought life to the old hits of Tater's. When I heard it on the radio, I couldn't rest until I bought the LP and it is a landmark project. Curly was at the top of his game during these years this was done. |
