I can't even name the other steelers in my neighborhood.
A few years ago I was at Scotty's convention, and I got into an elevator with a slightly older couple, and noticed from their name tages that they lived in the city of Pasadena CA. I'm in L.A. but just a mile or two from the Pasadena city limits. These people lived less than 5 miles away from me. But we had to travel 2,000 miles to meet. |

Big Jim Baron came up from California to Southern Oregon and they came out of the woodwork. I didn't know there were any other steelers here in Medford until he got some of us together. |

There's some good steelmen in MD that I never see here, and they're not listed on the "Internet Steelers" site. Nevertheless, they deserve mention. Mark Beauchamp, Bobby Sparks, and Guy Hall all play good steel, and they're all great lead players, as well! |

I could name a bunch of steelers here in NY but the problem is, they already have names and by force of habit they probably wouldn't respond to the names I gave 'em. I mean if I walked up to Hoffnar and said yo Barney he'd probably think I was talking to someone else so you see, Larry, it's just not practical. |

In the great state of Västerbotten we are about a handfull peddlers and maybe a dozen lap-steelers.
In a 60000 square kilometer area that is.
Imagine the turbulent used pedal steel-market over here!

Uhmmmmm.......and Felix James?...maybe
With this "CRS" Syndrom from which I suffer, there was a Willy Williams, Keith Holter, and some others too.
Almost forgot! a LARRY BEHM who's well known clear up in Canada, even.
Oh, whoops! Almost forgot: LARRY BEHM.
Not to be overlooked, Dale Grandstrom.
Oh yes, that new father and guitar guy,
Pete Burak!
And I can't overlook mentioning Larry Behm.
Gordon Black...... Wes Bakkum......
Artie Bechtel...... Michael Misetick
LARRY BEHM!
Ed Webster........Wayne Fitzgerald
Gene McGowan.......... Tom Baker

Arkansas has it's share of fine steelers. I would be afraid to try to list them for fear of leaving someone out. Two hall of fame members are from Arkansas, Zane Beck and John Hughey. Well, I'm not sure if Zane was actually from Arkansas but I know he spent a great deal of his life here.

There used to be another steel player by the name of Bobbe Seymour down around Ardmore and Gene Autry, Oklahoma, but he moved out of state somewhere.
