Just Steel guitar, guitar and computer playing drums and bass.We will be playing "dinner" music. We are at an impass as to what to call it. Which comes off better....."Steel Bridges" or "Pedalsteelia"

That cracks me up Gary. Hope to get to see you in StLouis. Roger told me about that time you guys were having lunch and you took out you boot and sniffed it at the table. He said he pretended like it never happened. LOL..Some of the tunes we are doing are Blue Bossa, All the things you are, Jersey Bounce,Nearness of you, Undecided, Watermelon Man,Bag's Groove, Blue Seven (by sonny rollins) all on C6. Worked up Here there and Everywhere on E9. We are just getting it together with arrangements all in Band in a Box. Having a good time.: ) Thanks for asking Gary! Can't wait to hear you play.

In my opinion it is one thing to be a "tonge in cheek" quite another to be leave nothing to the imagination. Do the dixie chicks have anything to do with a steel guitar? Haven't listened to them lately. I did see them on the cover of some magazine coming out. They don't have any cloths on! but they do cover up the basic parts though.

I would leave any mention of steel guitars and pedals out of it... it's not going to help you - nowbody knows what that thing is anyway nor does anybody care to know. I don't know what music you are going to play...
swinging strings
wabbly strings
the out tuners
the just intonifacators
What ever... Wing-wang your blues away while everybody wonders what your wanging it away on...
(that's not from me... but I thought it was kind'a cute )

Glad to see there is a diversity of personal here. No harm no Fowl Larry. I think that Steel something will work just fine here. I am very proud to be doing something that you don't see or hear everyday. Frankly, I will be content to just play the best music I can possibly play and take my money when I'm done. The name is only an after thought..Hopefully the people who like it will listen and the rest.....who cares. Hey anyways, right. MR Sauser..I have come up with a name that doesn't include Steel in the name. How bout "Liddia E. Pinkum's Superior Orchestra.

Band names again eh?
My two favorites have always been:
The Entrail Blazers
The CountryCeptives
But by now I'm sure those have been taken, after all they are so obvious.
BTW Gary Lee, How ya doin?
I haven't heard tell of Wimpy Jenkins in at least 25 years. Played around Everett WA. I lost out on a gig to him at the Casino Tavern on old highway 99 back in 73.

Etc..all that I'll need extra is a Tin cup or an old cigar box. I'll be the bose..and do it my way!!!!

Before I came up with "The Roadhouse Kings"
I suggested a name that the wives hated..Since the county next to us is Pinal County, I wanted to use "Pinal Envy".
My son and I were doing some blues and since his name is also Jack we wanted to call ourselves 2 Jack's and a queen but the drummer hated the dress we gave him.

I played a Newport beach restaurant gig Friday with just rhythm guitar, bass, and female singer.
I took my jazz guitar and my SD 12 Carter but played steel a lot. Chick singer--who is a local blues star--had never sung with steel , and she dug it.
Guess the owner did too: we'll be doing the same thing this Friday.
Steel is fun with a small group. Gave me a chance to play a different sort of repertoire and play chord melody as well as single note stuff.
