Do people bring their own bands, or is there a "house steeler"?

Buck Reid just posted elsewhere to say he's doing it, but not, I think, as a house-band player. I believe he said he was with Leanne Rimes.

I want to see him - who knows what time and channel it's on? I have to play tonight, but I can set the tape....

Mike Daily was playing steel with George Strait and Kevin Post was playing steel with Terri Clark. I saw Eddie Gossien with Darryl Worley, Troy Klontz with Brooks & Dunn, and I'm sure Robbie Flint was there playing steel for Alan Jackson. Brett Day, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel

I was so bored that I fell asleep and missed the last 20 min. of it! My only reason to watch was to see Buck Reid, and unfortunately; I guess that was the portion that I missed! However, I always enjoy Alan Jackson and George Strait and Terry Clarke. A lot of good steel on the show, dispite the 'not so country' material! At least not the 'Country' I come from! So, I guess all was not lost after all! “Uh~” “Big John” wknsg® http://community.webtv.net/KeoniNui/BigJohnBechtels

Sounds like there was some good stuff on, but when I tuned in and watched for a while, I just was bored to death so just cut it off and went to bed; the portion I watched was anything but country. Sorry I missed the good parts; sounds like there was some good music in the 3 hours, just not the 30 minutes I saw...

My big surprise was the number of Les Pauls vs. Telecasters, though the guitar players using them generally didn't seem to get a very rich tone from them. The 3-pickup Telecaster is definately coming on strong, though I can't see why you don't just use a Strat. All the pedal steel guitarists sounded good, though. Brooks and Dunn paid a guitarist to play a simple fuzztone slide part with their steel player sitting right there - I don't get it.

Bruce,

I'm with you. Buck did a tremendous job. There is an exactness to his playing that I only see in a few of the great ones.
