John,
I appreciate the kind words. John was one of the "greatest" country music singers of all time! I feel so honored and very lucky to have worked with him, for 2 1/2 yrs. He had this "bad boy" reputation, but i was privileged to be able to work for him being straight. He was nothing like he's portrayed. John had a "heart of gold". I would be driving the bus late at night, giving the bus driver a chance to catch some winks, and he would come up and talk to me, about life and some of the lessons that he had learned along the way. I have so many wonderful memories...We did a TNN live show at Billy Bob's, in Fort Worth, Tx. He came out and sang his "hindend" off! He was straight and his voice was clear...The "Old Violin" has to be one of the greatest country songs, ever! I got to experience a dream of a lifetime and now it seems so much like a dream. I hope and pray that John prayed...John wasn't the "bad boy" as the public perceived!
