John O-Joe Ashmeade seems to have "faded away" after his store went out of business-I believe it was called Crossroads Music-It has been several years-too bad-It was nice to have a store in the Chicago area that catered to pedal steel players-even though it did not seem that he was in business there for very long

Paul, thanks for the info.. I had sent him some items to sell on consignment, an RV3, a chromatic tuner, & a Lil Izzy. Last time I talked to him he said he hadn't sold them, & that he would send them back to me.. That was a year & a half ago... I would sure like my RV3 back at least.. John

John-I dont know what else to tell you-Boy am I glad that I got the Emmons P/P that I had there on consignment out before he folded-I wondered what happened to all the pedal steels that he had there?-I believe he was a dealer for Carter,Mullen, and others and there was unsold merchandise such as that in stock-what happened to it all?-I dont know if anyone around here does-except Joe himself

Yes Paul , I'm glad I never had more with him.. He did have a good working number & I did talk to him a few times, & he gave me some sob stories about his ailing mother, etc. & how he was low on money.. So I asked him just to ship the items to me. & I'll pay shipping.. He promised me he would every time I phoned, then finally he wouldn't answer his phone.. He was also a steel player, & he must be playing somewhere in the area.. I just can't believe a fellow steeler would do that to another picker. I did purchase a Carter from him when he had Crossroads Music, & I had sent the money first before he shipped the guitar. I guess I'm lucky to have recieved the guitar.. John

John-I can use my resources to get you his current address-I cannot guarantee to find a phone number-like you said he probably won't answer any calls anyway and probably won't answer any written correspondence either-but if you want to give it a shot-I will try to get you his address within a few days-I feel bad about your loss-and share your dismay that there are ones like that in our "steel playing community"
