Ricky Davis' Pickin on Linda lay CD

Post by Gene Sharp »

Today I received the Linda Lay CD from the Cracker Barrel folks. Took all of 3 days from time I ordered it online.

Folks, this cd is pure country and it sounds like the music most of us want to hear again on cd's. Ricky did a bang up job on his fabulous sounding PSG. His licks will perk up the ears of anyone that loves the old sound. Way to go Ricky.... Linda is a super country singer and it would be fantastic to hear more of her kind of music on the GOO.

This cd is a class act. Go get one!

Right on. This is how Country is supposed to sound. Ricky's playing reminds me of 1972 when I purchased an 8 track tape of Lloyd Green and fell in love with the PSG sound. I hope Linda makes a Gospel Cd in the future. I ready to buy now.

Wow you guys are just too kind...thanks...and to be set in the relm of Lloyd Green........well Highest compliment I could EVER dream of...thanks....and yes it's obvious who my influence is...ah...ha.
Linda is just busting at the seams over ya'lls great acceptance of her.
She grew up singing Gospel and Bluegrass and is in several quartets...but this was her first Country efforts on CD and we are all amazed with her.
AS we speak...they are cutting a new project....and sending down the DAT for me to cut Steel on several of the songs..yee haaa.....and this will be another Killer CD to be out late spring.
Thanks guys.

Yeah, Ricky;
Your playing sometimes touches Lloyd´s in terms of tone and feeling, and that´s the best compliment I can think of, too. But you´re obviously a very good picker just as yourself anyway, without any comparisons with the big name players.
I struggle with Pay-Pal and the bank for the moment; it´s tricky to pay by web in $ from Sweden, but when I´ve outsmarted the meat heads that´s constructed this system, I´ll order Lindas CD. And please put one copy of the next CDs aside on my behalf, too.
I do hope that you´re well, Ricky - no heavy elbow pains and no flu anymore. I run the same activities as usual every day, anyway.
:-)

I just got a copy of that CD - and it´s really GREAT! I bet my taste for music is fairly average, so get the CD, vettja!
(Vettja! is one of Pippi Longstocking´s many good expressions.)
