Find it, buy it, listen and learn. Ricky's playing on this is fabulous -- perfectly done to match Linda's style. |

Thanks Stephen for the great remarks......and I have three favorite Female singers now.
Connie Smith
Linda Lay
Heather Myles
.....mainly because each one of them sing with all their Womanhood...and not like some chipmunk cutesy lowcut blouse chick.
....and each one of them Sing perfectly wheather on CD or on Stage.....and there is NOT another Female singer on this planet that can do that....PERIOD!!!!

Earnest that is the sound of My ShoBud(the one you saw/heard in Long Beach) and Fender amps.
My Fulawka through my Fender Amp might be heard on Super Bowl Sunday on the back up song to the Monster.com commercial(so cross your fingers it gets picked up).
Also we are cutting a swing CD...and will be out in a month or so......and there is ALOT of Fulawka on it......yeeee haaa.

Got my copy yesterday and I absolutely love it. I listened to it and then wrapped it up and gave it to my wife for a present. After dinner today she let me use it to play along with, so I just set the CD player on repeat and went to work trying to copy some of Ricky's licks. |

Hey Chris;..yes Me and Dale and others.
Dales' new project will be some of the standards we do("I left her in Ole Monterey""Dance all Night""Your Nobody till somebody loves you"...etc.) and a bunch that Dale Watson wrote......it will be killer Man.
Joey that is Ssoooooooo cool Pal....let me know if I can help with any of those licks??? Oh how did you like my Dobro playing??ha...as you can tell...I play it about once a year..ha.
Oh and some of those licks aren't obtainable unless you lower your 7th string a whole tone and raise your 2nd string a half tone at the same time....so don't beat yourself up over it...just a knee lever for the week thing....ha.

High praise indeed from the man who played Sweet Dreams so darn pretty my CD player started weeping when it played it. Now if I'd just quit being so lazy and actually learn it!!! |

Ricky your Dobro playing was great but the old Sho-Bud sound is what makes my heart slow way down. I just bought a new Ultra and a Morrell square neck from SGN and I am working hard to master them both. Interesting about the seventh string. I've got Seymours trick knee lever and I have a ways to go. Can't wait for Linda's next CD. Thanks for your help not only to me but to the other guys out here as well. |

Ricky,
I went in to my local Cracker Barrel to inquire about the CD, and was told by the manager that she knew nothing about the "Heritage Collection" or "Linda's Mercantile Store". The only CDs they have in the Columbia, MO store are the "Cumberland Records" CDs in the racks with the push-button-to-listen-to your choice preview system.
When I went out to the CB web site, they say the Linda Lay CD is available "at these selected 50 stores", so I would suggest that anyone who has to drive a ways to the nearest store check the list on Cracker Barrel's web site first to avoid a wasted trip (unless you were going there to eat anyway)!
BTW, what little I heard of the steel and Dobro playing on the downloadable demo sounded great.

Ok Mike cool> thanks for the heads up on checking the 50 different Cracker Barrel's that may have it.
I think if the Heritage Music thing is a success in those 50.....it will move to all stores.

Ricky, old Santa was very good to me this year and Linda's CD was right at the top of the list. Santa had chosen the Cracker Barrell in Richmond, Ky and Greg picked it up on the way home last weekend. He too had to inquire about it, but it was just out so I suppose that was part of the problem. I wasn't disappointed , I knew it would be a great CD and some good country on it. I am on Cracker Barrels email list so I knew it had been released for sure and started looking for it. Great job Ricky and its in the CD player now, I just have to keep rotating it with Gregs new CD so its been a lot of country for Christmas here. |
