Emmons and this was directly related to how my first steel was set up when I bought it. At that time, I didn't know there was a difference. Years later I sat down to someone elses steel and I wondered what the problem was, thought I broke something, LOL. Then he explained the difference to me. I suppose if that first steel was Day setup, I would play Day.

.....Whew! Now I can rest easy knowing I didn't choose the wrong way.....
Buddy, with your humor I'm surprised that you didn't place yourself in the "Day" column!

To add perspective to this poll, when I was with Emmons and Sho~Bud, unless otherwise specified, all guitars went out with my setup, which was configured around the A & B split. It wasn't until the Emmons guitar raised and lowered the same string that I came up with what is now referred to as the Emmons setup. During that seven year period, many players weren't aware of the constant changes we were going through, so they would order a guitar with the stock pedals and levers to be assured they were in on the latest. That would explain why the Emmons setup would have the edge.

Well, since my post resurrected this thread, (and I am glad it did), AND I have received my new (to me) Mullen D-10 8x7, I am going to say I am sticking with the DAY set up. It just feels more intuitive to me.
