I will be in Houston during the Christmas holidays. Does Herb still have an actual store there? I see an address on his website but I don't know if that's just the location where he makes his guitars. Thanks in advance for the info. Boo

Hey Boo,
Happy Holidays from the Tim Gillis crew.
Let us know if you're coming east anytime, maybe you can show me how to play this stringed cheese cutter.

Hey Boo:

Tell Herb I said "Hi" if you get to see him in Houston. I lived down that way for 10 yrs. while working for Mr. Watson and my neighbor, Don "Babe" Barr (a well known steel-player from that area) and I used to go over and visit Herb when I was in, off the road. Also, if you get the chance, check out the Alvin, Tx. Opry on Sat. nights. Several old members from my era in Gene's Farewell Party play there each weekend including; Tony Booth, his brother Larry and guitar great, Norm Cass. Good Stuff !! Happy holidays Boo.

Ben:

This post sounds like a Tim Gillis, steel-player's reunion huh ?? You can tell Tim hello for me also and to you too, a great holiday season.

Maybe we should get ahold of Big Lou and have him get together with the three of us, yourself, Boo and me. We could surround Tim with pedal steel on stage someday... you know, kind 'a box him in and drive him nuts !?!?

We will be back up at the Villa Roma about Mar. 14&15 next year let me know if you can get loose we sure would like to see you.
What town are you in Tiny because I get up in your area every once in a while?
Have a great Christmas.

Ben:

I'm in Tribes Hill, N.Y. which is in the Mohawk Valley about 40 mi. northwest of Albany. It's a small town, about 1/2 way between Amsterdam and Fonda, in case you're checking the map.

Ben and Timy --

I didn't check the site this weekend -- I just died laughing seeing your posts today. I don't know about the two of you, but I certainly drove Tim to the point of distraction! (That probably was my biggest achievement in Country Heritage ) Yes, please tell Tim I said hello. Tiny, if I see Herb or any of your other friends, I will send your regards. This all just makes me smile ... Boo
