I just have to say in a public way how very proud I am of my "lil sister" Joan Cox! I was very honored to be at the Midnite Jamboree and witness the fantastic job she did. (ok, she smoked Johnny) What a fun night! It was nice to see many other great people and players in the audience...her and Johnny are very loved. Some that I saw were, Russ and Laney Hicks, Lynn Owsley, Rusty Hearse, Mike Johnson, Larry Moore and a few I am sure I missed. I look forward to hearing more in the future from "dyno duo" Johnny and Joan.

Joan is truly the queen of the steel guitar.

How can anybody not love her?

Joan is an awesome player. I saw and heard her play in Saluda, SC last weekend. She sounded really good on her black Zumsteel D-10. I'm amazed at how she plays. She is a wonderful steel guitarist! Brett Day, Emmons S-10

OK Pat, and you other guys..I don't know what to say. I'll just say it was really a thrill for me to get to play on the show last night with Connie and Johnny and the rest of the band. That was my first time playing on that stage, and it was really exciting. I was so glad to see Russ and Laney about 3rd row center from the stage, as well as Yvonne and Larry Moore from Atlanta, and Lynn Owsley, and Mike Johnson. The show went until about 2:00 in the morning. I thought it was really nice of Pat and his family to take it upon themselves to pack up my gear and Johnny's for us while we were talking to people after the show. We got ready to leave and found that he had already packed our stuff in the van and everything. That's a true friend.

It's a time I'll remember for a long time. I thought it was really nice of Connie to ask me to be a part of her show. She is a very gracious lady and I'm proud to know her as a friend. What a fun time we had. Thanks again, Pat, for helping us after the show and for coming and being with us. Next time we have a church dinner, I'll bring extra banana pudding for you.

Thanks Joan, but really thank you and Johnny for opening your hearts and letting people share in your lives. There are many people that feel the same way I do regarding that as evidenced from the crowd reaction last night and the responses you and Johnny get on the forum! Packing your steels and amps up just reminds me of one more reason why I gave up playing the steel!!! (the other....lack of talent!) lol. But really the main reason is.....free "Nanner Puddin"!!! Thanks again for a great night.

It's great to see Joan being so well received. We've always known what a great player she is and are looking forward to her being at our Gospel Steel show next May. "Can't Wait"
Pat I hope you are coming too, with or without "Nanner Puddin'".

You never heard Joan?Send her an email and order her CD "Not bad For A Girl",If you are not impressed>>>>>>I would like to hear what does.
All kidding aside,Joan is a wonderfull lady and a dang good player, even after haveing to follow Johnnys Speedy West impersonation at Saluda Sunday.
She shoulda ducktaped his thumb and index finger togather.
Hey Johnny, you ever heard the saying(payback is h-well,you know)

Hi Bill..don't get Jack started. He don't know when to quit. He's not a bad player, for a guy. Maybe I should say "for an OLD guy".

Bill,
She is pretty slick.....She has a bunch of Jernigan and Rugg stuff on C Ds and a foot control on the player. She had me fooled also for a long time. But she is kinda a nice lady anyway. (Kinda) I thought she was playin that stuff herself for a long time !
But,, She is a master with the tone controls on the playback system..you gotta give her that!!
Jack
B T W If anyone is intrested on her secret of how she does it ..put your address on the back of a $50.00 bill and I will ask her for you.
