Hey Roy,

Are you the same guy that I used to jam with in Galesburg? You were playing with Boyd Bennett at that time.

My most embarassing moment was as the opening act for a 1970 Fanny (popular girl group of the time) concert. During our last song, we cut to a bass solo. Ufortunately, the bass amp decided that it was going to die and imitate someone with bad gas problems. Our bass player was a real trouper and made it through that. I thought we had made it through without too many scars. Little did I know that, while we were playing, Fanny's roady had set a large bottle of 7up on their organ, which was right behind me. I turned around and proceeded to whack the bottle which of course emptied all of its contents all over the keys. After that we just wanted to get out as quick as we could.

I saw BE at a concert once where the band kicked off his waltz number in 4/4....he wasn't embarrassed at all, he just stopped playing and said, "Hey guys it's a waltz"...and continued on.

I'm not that confident...if the band starts playing in 4/4, I play it in 4/4.(and sometimes it sounds better)

Are you the same guy I used to jam with in Galesburg, Illinois back in the 50's. I think you were playing steel with the Boyd Bennett band at that time.

Sorry I sent three replies before I realized there was a page two. I really enjoyed meeting you in those days, we both were playing triple neck Fenders I believe. I'm still playing quite a bit out here in Arizona, now have an Emmons double 10 that I got in 1980 and love it. I remember you told me that you played steel on Pee Wee King's recordings of Tennesee Waltz and Slow polk. I still hear those recordings on the radio now and then. Let's stay in touch.

Earnest-Maybe that place was called the Bunkhouse, I played there many moons ago, 20 years or so.
