Did Fender make different bridge nuts? I've only seen the adjustable ones with end points to hold the string covers.

I'd agree that although the parts are not original, it's a great looking guitar.

It seems somewhat similar to the mods Jerry Byrd had Fender do on his black S8... and it makes sense. To have a bridge attached to a piece of sheet metal screwed on top of a not all too flat piece of lacquered lumber defies all teachings a luthier ought to respect... still, thousands of Fenders came out just that way... I never understood it.
