JMO: Mike is a great guy, and one of the best players I have heard. Maybe we should stop and think before we post. It seems as some folks on here just want to attack you or your opinion, if you have the nerve to post it. This forum is to share knowledge about the music and the instrument, not flame people who are offering their expertise, at no charge. Some of you guys would have to pay an instructor big bucks for the information and advise offered her for free. JMO

Mike: please don't leave for the few that fit the above description and GOOD LUCK with your surgery.

Mike - In every profession, there are leaders and there are followers; you're a leader. Don't let the followers dictate your attidude or future decisions on lending your expertise to the rest of us. Best, Boomer

Mike,

Hey, hope everything turns out okay with your surgery. I've been on the road making a living, like Sweeney said, sitting my big fat a$$ behind my guitar. I don't know the post you guys are referring to that caused all this. I just hate the fact not to see your posts. Not living in Nashville anymore, I don't get to see or talk to you as much as I used to. Mike, you have all my admiration and respect. I just want you to know that. Besides, I don't want to be the only one on here with a "bad attitude." Image Image Image

Without the help and advice of Mr. Cass, I would still be floundering and undecided. With his help I got the steel I've always dreamed of, and am finally free to play. I wish you well and hope you come back to the forum. Buck

Hi Mike,
We've never met in person, I have read your posts in the forum and always enjoyed them.
Its not so bad to disagree now and then, sometimes we get out feelings hurt by someone that does not give a sh,, about others and that is kinda hard to swallow. I wish you would take the time to read the posts of friends saddened to see you say you are giving up on a place that loves you and would like you to hang in here. This Forum is built on professionals like yourself, that can give a helping hand to people like me that are trying to learn and be a part of one great family.
My very best wishes to you, wish you the best with your health problems. Come back home soon.

Mike, you and I have never met face to face, but from the very first phone call I made to you about having my guitar restored, I felt that I was dealing with a friend.
A friend who just happens to be the best PP wrench on the planet! Thank you for the great work you did on my guitar, thank you for the great info I have learned from your posts, but most of all, Thank you for always being "Mike Cass".

Wayne and Jim, are you aware that you're replying to Mike's farewell speech from last year? Image

Don't you think it's funny Mike feels he needs to give us a farewell speech. Hey if your not going to post, don't. You don't have to make such a big deal about it. Maybe we could just bump this post to top for Mike every 6 months or so and save him the trouble. Image

I didn't pull it up Mr. Cass, Wayne Morgan did!

And on the off chance you read this:

I felt like you attacked me and having gone back and reread the posts many times, I still think the same thing.
I TRULY believe I was defending myself.
I made a couple distasteful remarks but that happens here alot by lots of people.
I NEVER attacked YOU.
I defended against your attacks.

Some cooler heads think that those things should be ignored. Maybe they're right...
It's also easy to see how they escalate.
Even in departing you still want to sling crap at me. That .01% you refer to is me; ignorant, can't play, bad ears, on and on. Would you put up w/that from anyone? No? Well I won't either.

My opinion (actually fact) is that if you don't want to interact w/someone; JUST DON'T. It's THAT easy!
If you're leaving on my account, you needn't bother. Martyrs are quickly forgotten.
You leave me alone and I'll leave you alone.
I don't know how you or anyone else could ask for more than that.

Mike, Marty is right this time. Image If you look at the date and times of Buck Dilly's post above Wayne's, that was posted 12 October 2001 09:19 PM. Wayne Morgan's was posted 05 September 2002 03:40 PM, almost a full year later. Image

I think we should all be required to submit our resignations every year. Then only some of us get invited back, namely those who can play nice with others. I look at it this way: b0b is throwing a party. Some people show up, drink too much and cause a disturbance among the other guests at the party. Guess what? They don't have to be invited back; simple as that. No one is "entitled" to an invitation to attend the party. It's a private party. Get it?
