Marty I agree... Tommy White ain't so hot..If I had that kind of talent I could play that bad . After all, he can't get work.
Rumor is he only makes about three figures. Somebody said he tried to get a job on the Opry. Ain't that a laugh !! I think your unbiased editorials are great!! Keep up the great work!! Please don't let these guys get to you. After all opinions are like ass holes
everbody has one and they usually stink! Go get em boy.

OK, Marty, I asked you to keep this off the Forum. You chose not to. Fine, your choice. I guess you are able to squeeze time between your careers of gentleman farmer, hired assassin, plumber, brain surgeon, to feed your delusional paranoia. You've posted in order to draw attention to yourself, and have done so. As for your so-called"high-profile" e-mailers, where are they? Either they exist only in your imagination, or are ashamed to have their names associated with yours here on this Forum. You are very good at using other people's quotes, are you sure you're not Gerry Spence? No, I guess not, although I'm sure you're a member of the Kansas Bar Association. So I ask you, Marty, to say something original, and non-inflammatory. Post anonomously---course, you can't do that. Make an appointment with a shrink, Marty. Get yourself some help. And don't use my name on the Forum again, please. E-mail me if you have something to say, I'll keep it confidential. Believe me, I don't consider you high-profile enough to quote. Have a very good day.

Steve, Steve, Steve, you wall-eyed, slack-jawed, silly little monkey!
What're we gonna do w/you?
OK, Marty, I asked you to keep this off the Forum. You chose not to.
No, you were, in actuality, BEGGING me to keep it ON the forum by posting what you did. There's an edit feature you're welcome to use.
..careers of gentleman farmer, hired assassin, plumber, brain surgeon,
My point was simply that I have a wide range of experiences and am passable at all of them; not the best.
...to feed your delusional paranoia.
WHO said that? Who SAID that?! Who said THAT?!?!!
...your so-called"high-profile" e-mailers...are ashamed to have their names associated with yours
Perhaps, and that's ok by me. Or maybe they have political reasons. I dunno, you dunno.
So I ask you, Marty, to say something original, and non-inflammatory.
Damn, got me!
Make an appointment with a shrink, Marty. Get yourself some help.
Could you refer me to yours? He's obviously been a great help to you! You sound perfectly rational to ME. No, REALLY!!!
And don't use my name on the Forum again, please.
Well Steve, since you said please, I guess I'll have to say...
NO, SO SORRY STEVE! Image
I don't consider you high-profile enough to quote.
Oh man, where's that bottle of strychnine?
Have a very good day.
Oh, like you haven't done enough damage; now you're gonna TELL me I HAVE to have a NICE DAY?!?

Well, well.......Congratulations to Marty Pollard who has accomplished what several others in the past failed to do.

As of today, I QUIT! The Steel Guitar Forum and b0b can enjoy this crap but I have too little time to devote to this meadow muffin's never-ending verbal onslaught.

Marty.....my once cherrished spot on this Forum is now all YOURS! Enjoy talking to yourself and your loyal cliche!

Marty my friend -
There's no reason to be such an asshole so why are you being one? Your posts claim to be about steel guitar topics but they are really about being petulant and confrontational in a public forum for self aggrandizement. And since you hold yourself in such high regard,if you had any idea how transparent and infantile your outbursts appear to others,I'm sure you would abandon them at the earliest possible opportunity - out of self-respect if nothing else.

This level of discourse demeans the forum. I'm disapointed to see this kind of thread return. Does the off topic board still exist, b0b? If so, please send this thread there.

What a fantastic show!! I've never seen so much pure tallent in one room before. Marty, how would you feel if you had taken the time and effort to get on stage, in front of your peers, and play your heart out only to be criticized by a lesser player? Think maybe the Golden Rule applies here. Every player I heard contributed their heart and soul in the songs they played. Thats all aces in my book buddy AND speaking of BUDDY, did you hear him play Night Life? 8.5???? I agree that Mr. Green was great but so were all the others in their own way. There's always something good there if you lay that bad mouth and attitude aside long enough to hear it. You're more than welcome to flame away at me for this post. Wont bother me one bit. Im one of the last guys on the face of the earth that sincerely doesnt give a damn about what anyone thinks or says. Hope you get a cramp in your typing finger too. Image

Rick Garrett
P.S. If your ears are SO in tune as to rate BE and other greats why the hell arent YOU on stage?

I really can't fathom the motivation that causes someone like this Pollard indvidual to spout such sanctimonious tripe as this. There's no doubt that this "noise" is an affront to what this Forum really is intended to do for us.

This is an atrocity. Opinion is a word very often thrown out to "smoke screen" simple muckraking. It makes me sick to see this kind of rabble-rousing on this fine site.

Chronology:
I start a thread that makes valid points of opinion.
The post includes one reference in questionable taste: “dwindling on down to the fellow w/the instruction courses and the loud mouth/bad attitude.” I shouldn’t have made his identity so clear but my point was that he was the lowest on the rating scale IN MY OPINION!
Then:
4 or 5 reasonable posts before Steve England takes me to task.
I clarified my meaning to him in the next post.
Then:
A neutral post.
Then:
A post from Mike Cass peppered w/smiles suggesting that I’m an incompetent player and don’t have ‘ears’.
I answered this post in an evenhanded, unemotional way. Granted, I questioned Darrell McCall’s ‘appearance’ at the show in an untactful sort of way. Again, JUST MY OPINION!
Then:
Mike Cass responds in a threatening manner with many derogatory slurs.
Then:
Paul Graupp jumps on the Mike Cass bandwagon and attacks me personally.
Then:
A few relatively neutral posts; none of which addressed the topic.
Then:
I respond; let me repeat; RESPOND, to the personal attacks launched by Mike and Paul.
Then:
Quite a few posts defending relative positions and opinions which I responded to and then tried to get the topic back on track.
Then:
A few more neutral, or not TOO offensive posts, then Steve Miller attacks me.
I chose to let it go.
Then a few more posts with the typical whiney hand-wringing and bed-wetting.
I let most of them go, too.
Then:
Stephan Gambrell loses his mind, apparently forgetting his meds.
Then:
A few more off-topic posts of a personal attack nature.
I asked Steve what he would have me do? Make sure he approves of my topic selection?
I post excerpts of supportive emails.
Then:
Some incoherent drivel from Grampa Jack.
Then:
Steve (not able to restrain himself) unloads on me again, telling me HOW IT’S GONNA BE!
I respond; RESPOND; because, well, I just can’t restrain myself.
Then:
Ray quits the forum in a petulant frenzy.
Michael, Andy, CrowBear, Rick, and Michael all poop their pants at the SAME TIME (what are the odds?)!!! I know what happened to these five, though; they didn’t realize the topic contained a FIRST PAGE! They started reading on page two and therefore didn’t see the progression of events. I’m posting this for their benefit so they can catch up on the context.

So, REALLY, who is at fault here?
I make a couple of remarks of questionable taste and suddenly it’s DOGPILE!!!???
If you bozos (and you know who you are) held yourselves to a standard half as strict as you demand of me, we wouldn’t be this far OFF-TOPIC!

BTW, I’m sure the term and tone used by Michael Holland is against the policy of the forum.
Should he be evicted?
Just curious…
