First of all, let me say that these test results are only my personal opinions and are not intended to endorse nor rule out any of the combinations tested! They are my own personal results, however; they might be of interest to someone whos still searching! (Who isn't?) The components used included: Geo. L. & Lawrence L-710 Pick-ups, Goodrich Mod. 6a Super Sustain Match Box, (1) G.D.Walker S.S.Pre-Amp, (2) Peavey Nashville 1000 Pre-Amps, (2) Nashville 1000 Pwr-Amps. [Test #1: Geo.L. Pick-up, (2) Nash. 1000 Pre-Amps, (2) 1000 Pwr-Amps.] {Result=Good} [Test #2. Geo.L. Pick-up, Goodrich Match Box, (2) !000 Pre-Amps, (2) 1000 Pwr-Amps.] {Result=Good} [Test #3. Geo.L. Pick-up, G.D.Walker S.S.Pre-Amp, (2) 1000 Pwr-Amps.] {Result=Good} [Test #4. Geo.L. Pick-up, Goodrich Match Box, G.D.Walker S.S.Pre-Amp, (2) 1000 Pwr-Amps.] {Result=Good} [Test #5. Lawrence L-710 Pick-up, (2) Nashville 1000 Pre-Amps, (2) 1000 Pwr-Amps.] {Result=Good} [Test #6: L-710 Pickup, Goodrich Match Box, (2) 1000 Pre-Amps, (2) 1000 Pwr-Amps.] {Result=Poor} [Test #7: L-710 Pick-up, G.D.Walker S.S.Pre-Amp. (2) 1000 Pwr-Amps.] {Result=Poor} [Test #8: L-710 Pck-up, Goodrich Match Box, Walker S.S.Pre-Amp, (2) 1000 Pwr-Amps.] {Result=V.Good} All this to say, My best sound is coming from Test #8! Big, Rich Lows, V.Good Midrange, and Clear Highs w/never before attainable Harmonics. Easier to distinguish in/out of tune! If you are having a problem, #8 could be worth a try along with anything else you may have tried up 'til now! Just a serious opinion which in the end has made me a very "Happy Camper" "Big John" Bechtel
