Forgive these old eyes but when I first saw the steel player, I thought it was Tommy White. Then I rubbed my eyes clear and saw the truth. Excellent technique and sound. Man he even looks precise with those bar flashes. I don't think I've ever seen that before !!

Randle Currie is awesome! Young, with fire in his playing!
He sounded great on his Franklin! I hope someone can help with the rack ?
Also, hats off to the camera work last night!

Did you see a Rack sitting next to him??? If not and your wondering> when I did a opry show with Randle and Brad.....Randle just came in and plugged his Franklin right into the Webb amp head just like the rest of us.....but if you actually saw a rack sitting next to him.....then I haven't a clue...but if you saw a rack behind him...that is the rack of 5 Webb amp heads you plug into one of them.
When Randle plays.....he sounds larger than life....."He's that good". And Brad is a super nice guy/picker, and plays Dale Watson music on his bus........and is a "HUGE" fan of the Steel Guitar.

Ricky, the camera was moving very fast, I
thought I saw a rack. Since you have played
with Randle, do you have an idea what is
in the rack he uses. And would you tell us
what you use in your rack.
Thanks,
GP |

Hi Guys
I dont think Randle was using a rack of his owne, I think he just uses theres like Ricky said, I know the two times I was there that is what he did. On the road I think he is just using a Nashville 400 and sometimes he does use two of them I know.
And I second the mention of the good camera work, we got to see all the players, Good work. |

Glenn, I just started watching my tape of last night's Opry. What you saw was in fact the rack of Webb amp heads. Neither Randle nor Ricky use rack mounted equipment that I know of. |

Randle was playing Munster Rag, does anyone
have the tab, or where I could get the sheet
music. This would be a good break tune.

Randle regularly plays down on Broadway at places like Legends in Nashville. I see him most every time I'm in Nashville. |

Randle uses a 'Intellifex' in front of his amp, that's about it. His amp is a N-400. On the Opry, he might well have used his rack in front of the Webb. I kinda' miss the Peavey set-up when Weldon was in there...easier to get after....when you only have 40 seconds tops to settle in, it is nice to see a familiar face. The Webb sounds a little harsh to me. That won't translate to TV, as everything is so squashed anyway.... |
