The first time I saw AATW live was at a New Years Eve celebration at a biker bar in Berkley sometime at the end of the '70s. The band was full strength and in the middle of the floor there was a 6' 8, 300lb Hells Angel, swing dancing as smooth as Baryshnikov. Most of the evening I was riveted to Lucky's side of the stage. In front of the middle of the stage there was a pole, holding up a ceiling joist, and periodically, Lucky would go over and swing around it a few times then get back in time for a solo.

Chas, was that at Larry Blake's? I think I was there for that show.

Mark, I have no idea what the name of the bar was, but it was a really fun night.

That was really cool. I wondered what happened to him. Looks like he chose real love over a great music career...don't know if I could've done it.
