delay chart

I understand that the studio players have a delay chart that they use to set the difference delay times. Anyone know if it is possible to get one of thes charts. thaks Jack

I haven't heard of a chart. These days a lot of the delay's have a tap function to set the delay to the tempo of the song.

I would guess that if there is such a chart it is just a conversion chart from beats per minute to milleseconds for setting the delay rate.

I've seen charts like that but I never need them and here's why: When recording,you NEVER print with delay you always add it during mixdown.Here's what you do - set up your delay on an aux send just like you would a reverb.Then temporarily send the snare track to the delay and adjust the unit for quarter notes,eighth notes,triplets,feedback trailoff or whatever you want.Then take out the snare and put the guitar,steel,vocal or whatever in the send.It's real easy since the snare is so consistant(or should be) - just use your ears. -MJ-
