I would like to begin by saying, hello to all you wonderful people and great pickers out there. I am new to the forum, and I would also like to thank Bobbe for this great forum. I have bee a peddlar now for over 40 years, started in Eugene, Oregon in 1957, worked 5 and 6 nights for over 31 years in Orego, Washington, Idaho , Montana and Alaska. Was with Ira Allen and the Renegades for a few years if anyone remembers them. Was also staff musician at Gene Breeden Studios in Vancouver, Washington before he moved to Nashville. Didn't mean to ramble on, just thought some of my old friends might be on line, like Danny Sneed and Bill Nauman, hello to both of you. Its fantastic, this forum and what its doing for every picker out there, I wish we could have had something like this when I was a newbie. Anyway, its great to be a part of something this good and look forward to meeting all of you.
Thanks
Gene H. Brown

Hi Gene,
A very warm velcome from Scotland. I can`t imagine life without the forum, it`s habit forming, you`ll love it here. I don`t think even Bob in his wildest dreams could have imagined what a great success the forum would become when he first started it.

Gene Brown now that is a name I remember. I have been asking around for years where you were, some said this and some said that, now we know. Since you have left this area there have been many many players that now have a chance to play in the clubs. HA HA HA. Just kidding many of us left here in Portland really miss you and your great playing. Please continue to post here and do not be a stranger. (We know where your live)

Welcome on board Gene.
Like the guys out there say :- it's habbit forming - I can't have my day before having my daily fill of who says what to who.
There are many friends out there who we all know by name - - thing is though, I've even met up with a few and they're not THAT bad

Hi Gene, and a big welcome to you.
I played with Hank Carr and Gary Garnet, a few years ago, right after Jimmy Dee got busted. I never got a chance to hear you, but Hank had nothing but good things to say about you. Please say hello to Hank for me.
All the best,- Andy Greatrix |

To Bobbe Seymour, now hold on a gol darn minute here, there's so many Bobbe's and Joe's and John's , I guess I forgot to put the Lee on the end of it. Anyway many thanks to Bobbe Lee Quasar for this Forum, hope I did this right......And Bobbe Seymour I would like to thank you for something else, probably something you don't even remember doing. I just bought an LDG from Skip Mertz, 4F and 5K , and you signed the underside of it , I guess a while ago down south somewhere, anyway thanks for the autograph, see there, I did have something to thank you for. Thanks Bobbe and Bobbe Lee too!!!

Well what a way to start out on the forum. First I spell Bobby Lee's name wrong and accidently give credit to Bobbe Seymour, and if thats not bad enough, then I double my reply. I think I am gonna go take all this out on my Sho-Bud and hammer a few licks out in Frustration. Sorry to both you guys, you are both Gentlemen in my little book.:0

Hello Gene,
Sooner or later just about everyone pops up on this forum don't they.
Let's turn back the pages of time to 1972. The Riverside Inn, Do you remember the hippie country band playing in the lounge? OLD ROSE
was the name. That was me on steel. I sure remember you and Danny and Geno Keyes and of course, Ira.
That was a great time to be learing steel guitar. I got to listen to you and katz kobyashi, Paula Wolfe and Jimmy Webb.
Welcome aboard, looks to me like you're getting into the swing around here.

Hello, Gene, from another Ira Allen alumnus ...er, survivor?
I did 6 trips to Nevada with Ira and the bus out of Nashville, 1985 to '87.
Also met Danny Sneed when I lived in Montana, oh, around 79 or 80. Fine player and gentleman. (Never heard his brother play steel, though. Supposed to be a monster).
Good to cross paths with you, Gene, and welcome to the Forum. Yes, b0b deserves the credit for giving us on-line ranting room!

Gene H. Brown, Thank you for being so nice. I feel this forum will be richer because of your input. I do realize though that regardless how how much you could possibly add, or how important it will be, your humor or spheeling will never equal the likes of mine!--------------->
Glad you are here, now tell us all what you have been doing for the last 85 years!

Nice to hear from some of my old friends and I'm sure I have made some great new ones too. Doug Jones, all you have to do is come and visit and I will cook that mouth watering swiss steak you are talking about. Mr. Bassett, I do remember you from Seattle and remember meeting you, nice to hear from you. Mr Brooks I don't believe I have met you , but you are probably spared the boredom.Mr. Seymour, thanks for those kind words and we will be talking a lot, I'm sure.
