I did a search on the Forum and I guess Kayton Roberts recorded with Hank III. Does he use a steel on the road?

Thanks, Dave Z

hi Dave-
last I heard, H3 (tricephus ) hadn't replaced Jim Murphy, who left awhile back.

He still has a great fiddle player, and the guitarist from Jesus Lizard knows how to play country. Sounds like he's listened to plenty of Jimmy Bryant, among others.
Wish I could remember those guys' names!

Waitaminnit...

Scott, are you saying that Duane Dennison (former guitarist for The Jesus Lizard) is playing guitar for H3?

WOW. That guy is a MONSTER player, I'd say he's definitely in my top 5 all time favorite category. I would love to hear him play country.

Just one more reason to see H3 when he comes around.

I was hoping to have some rippin' steel to look forward to. I'm playing with the opening act for H3 at the Ventura Theater on April 28th. Sounds like I'm in for a treat with the fiddler and guitarist. It's all good!

Be prepared for some (or all) Punk Style Rock.

Hank III said the following about his choice of Rock :
Quote:
""(In rock music), the girls are prettier, the crowd's are crazier and the drugs are better."

Hmm...I am interested in this new music you call rock. Do you have a pamphlet? Where can I join?

And more seriously, Hank3 seems to have a wide bag he can reach into depending on gig or mood, I'm not sure which. He certainly can do a respectable country thing. And yes, he likes to rock. You'd need to find out what the tone of this tour is.

Hey, Dave, The Fiddler for Hank III is Mike McCanless, and he will knock you out. Has a full pedal board of gizmos and knows how to use 'em all- he did a week with us in Blueground Underggrass a while back and at that time they did have a road steeler with them. Say hi to Mike for me, have a blast!
