Larry. I just wanted to say congratulations again on your induction into the Michigan Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. I sincerely enjoyed your playing as did the hundreds of others who attended our show this year. I'm looking very forward to seeing you again soon at another show in the near future.
From all of us in the Michigan Steel Guitar Club, --- a sincere congratulations, and welcome aboard as a Hall of Fame Member. |

Wow, thanks Danny. Coming from a player of your caliber that's a wonderful compliment.
I think L.T. and I are both still on Cloud 9. What an honor. Add to that a weekend with my heros -- Don Helms, John Hughey, Hal Rugg, Herby Wallace, Joe Wright, and on and on -- an all star band -- I am still in HEAVEN.
My personal kudos to Danny Crampton and Ben Brogdon -- best rhythm section I've ever worked with. And what a kick it was to finally meet and work with Roy Rosetta. Plus, the whole event wouldn't be complete without the golden throat of Mr. Rob Parker.
A special thanks to my buddy Frank Rogers. He worked all weekend -- hardly a set off while playing guitar -- and then turned in a stellar performance on steel with (what he CLAIMED was) no preparation.

Let me also add congratulations Larry. Your Show was great as was the Jam. Also want to say thanks for your informative web site. A long lost friend of mine ED Meadway from Buffalo NY was there and you talked to him about the 12 string Universal as I did and think we made a little progress in convincing him on this this is the way to go. Glad you made it to the Hall of Fame. You are a true ambassador of the Steel Guitar World. Have you found a wall to put the award on yet? |

Congrats - Larry!
It sure was nice meeting you this weekend. Getting such an award has got to be the icing on the cake. From the MI Hall of Fame members that have been inducted, you are among some elite company.
I'll look forward to seeing you down the road. You played some great sets, and anyone who will give Jerry Brightman and Joe Wright a hard time in the jam is ok by me. :-)
Congratulations,
David Spires |
