By the same artist. Thats differant. I think that would be Paul Franklin with Mr George Strait. He had 31 number ones when he released the box set, and i'm thing he now has more than Conway.
Paul do you know how many he has now?.

I think Weldon Myrick and others were on some of George Strait's earlier hits. John was on most if not all of Conway's hits. That's a hard record to beat by anyone.

Sonny Garrish and Weldon Myrick were on early George Strait hits. DeVito also. My answer is still John Hughey with Conway.

I'll have to go with John Hughey w/ Conway. Paul Franklin and Buddy Emmons have both recorded on George Straits hits.......
[This message was edited by Hal Higgins on 23 January 2002 at 07:01 AM.]

I think we can leave out John Hughey because he recorded on Conways early country hits, but then no more steel.
George Straits first two had Sonny Garrish, 3 & 4 was Weldon, then it was Paul until 1992 when he went on a two year tour with "The Boss", Bruce Springstien. (I think i've been hearing some of his guitar licks on Pauls steel lately). Then Buddy was on "Holding My Own" and "Pure Country" and Paul has been on the rest to present. If
Strait isn't number one on number ones, he's real close. So I'm going to stay with Paul Franklin.
Somebody is working on this as we type and read. Should know in a couple of days and i'll let you know.

Bob, are you blind or did you just overlook John Hughey's above post? I believe it says that he recorded on nearly 50 (FIFTY) #1 hit singles from Conway. I think I will trust his judgement and word since he was there and you and I weren't. Image

Playing on 50 #1's with Conway, plus doing the road gig is quite an accomplishment. I still say John Hughey!
