Post by Rick Garrett »

The 10 string Ricky is the one I took lessons on when I was a kid. I recently acquired Dads Fender Stringmaster from the Jim Reeves Estate. This is the one that Jim kicked down a flight of stairs during a hissy fit. Image Hope you enjoy the pics.

Hey there! How many of those 10-stringers did they manufacture? A real rarity!

Hello Andy, yes it does still have the "Shot Jackson" pedal assembly. It is missing the pedal itself but the rod and everything else is there.

Hey Rick -- looks better than when you got into Town with it. It's the one JR kicked down the stairs O.K. and Bobby Told me out of his own mouth that when he picked up the guitar, he knocked JR down the same flight of stairs. Jim then came up the stairs or steps, and told him to get his stuff and get on the bus. While Bobby was gone to get his stuff, the bus drove off and left him in Las Vegas with 8 bucks in his pocket. He tried to call me, he said, and then he saw someone else he knew and borrowed enough to get back to Nashville. Never played in that band again I don't think. He told me some other stories about his relationship with JR. They're for another time.
