This is a plug for great strings but more-so a plug for the great service I just got in quick order processing and super fast delivery of two sets of strings from this great forum..Guys, The price is right but the service is superb. Bill,

I've used Jagwires for some time now, and I really feel they are well designed and seem to have a great balance across the neck. I
use the stainless sets and with the
combination of L-710 pickups and Nashville
1000 amp..seem to provide the tone without a lot of dialing and adjusting at shows.

I change strings every two weeks, and each set is always consistant on both necks.

Besides, Danny and Regina are great people and you'll have to go a long way to find any two people nicer and more knowlegeable in this industry.

Ditto all of the above.
Jagwire strings are a very stable string with tone to boot.
Danny is also a good friend and is as honest as the day is long (and a super picker too).

I done already said it a dozen times, I've been using Jagwire nickel strings exclusively for several years now. They are long-lasting, have great tone, and are extremely uniform and consistent from set to set. I use them on steel guitar, electric guitar, and dobro and couldn't ask for a better string.

And you can't find better folks than Danny and Regina Hullihen, the proprietors of Jagwire String Co. They will see to it that these strings meet the steel player's needs.

I like Jagwire strings and Danny Hulihan. They are both tops in my book.

......And they make my Zoom sound almost purple. Now THAT'S a great string!

I find that strings wear out because they only have a certain amount of notes in them and as you know I play so few that my strings last longer than yours do.

There we go again Jerry using Stainless and Tim using Nickel.... Is it the Material of the Bar that determines the Material of the Strings? Help a newby understand. I think I read somewhere that you didn't want to use a bar of the same material as the string.... Is that nonsense??

The rule of thumb is to use a bar with a harder surface than the material the strings are wound with. The reason is to cut down on bar friction and wear, and give the best tone possible. IOW, if you are using stainless steel strings it's a good idea to use a hard chrome plated steel or zirconium bar, rather than stainless steel or plated brass. Personally I use a BJS 15/16" bar without the jewel, this bar can be used on any type of string winding and works great.

Why do some prefer nickel and some prefer stainless wound? Difference in tone preference mainly, also the stainless steel strings keep their bright tone longer than nickel wounds do.
