Being a beginning steel player who unfortunately lives in a part of the country that could be labled a "steel-free zone", I really appreciate the video clips of Don E. Curtis that Scotty's music has on their website. Thanks!

You should have heard Don play "Steel guitar boogie" on a 6-string they had, presumably sold now. It proves that you don't need a lot of bells & whistles if you have chops & taste.
