I couldn't go past this thread without asking, Buddy, do you have a schedule yet going into this new 2002 year? I am certain many of us would make the trip . I have many great memories of you performing up in NY and Ct in the late 70's. Time to update my memory !

Saluda SC has a very fine steel show ever 3 months..and the Burgers aren't all that bad either ! Perhaps ?

Thanks for the invitation and the kind words Tony but I'm no longer playing live. Add no sessions and no Everly Brothers and you'll have a good idea of my schedule for this year.
I've cut out just about everything but hamburgers, but that's a far piece to drive for one.

Hi Buddy, I'm saddened that you will not be sitting behind the Steel live this year, but, I am very grateful for the few times that I did get to see you play and honored to have had the chance to meet and talk with you way back there in the late 70's in Ct.

Thanks for giving us all "THE" mark to strive for.

Best regards

Theresa!!!
I'm flabbergasted… I shall do so.
Bob… I haven't been playing any of my guitars lately but plan to plow into it soon. I've changed the Carter around from it's original setup but am still searching for the magic combination.

CrowBear, my darling wife is in France as we speak visiting all the Chateau's and ingesting all the good grape juice France has to offer. Real hard work and I'm so jealous I think I'll raid her, OUR, wine collection and have a party all by myself. I'm sure she won't miss a lick. Well, I hope she doesn't anyway. If Buddy turns down your offer for the '47 Vouray, let me know and I'll have my wife take it off your hands. Meanwhile I'm debating whether to pop a Grand Cru from Burgundy or a nice gem from Chateauneuf-du-Pape. What do you suggest?

BUDDY WHO?

But seriously folks...

Buddy, are we to take it that you are retiring or just taking some time off. It will be hard to take not having that Buddy fellow blowing our shorts off with his playing.

You mean blowing our dress up, don't you there, Richard?

But seriously there Buddy, I think that you should at least come out to some shows just to visit and watch other folks play. I love to watch people sweat....

Hi Buddy,

Glad to hear that everything is ok with you. I am saddened to hear that you won't be performing live, hopefully, it won't be permanent? Have a healthy and happy 2002 and ENJOY!

Hey Buddy...
I'm glad that you're takin' some time off...
You are the greatest, and even the ungreatest, as myself, still need time OFF.

I could care less what you do in the coming months. It's your own damn business. Just watch yourself and protect those fantastic hands. Ole' James Taylor took time off years ago and went to the "islands" and managed to carve off a piece of one of his playing fingers....but I know you're more careful.

Love ya 'BudMan'. Enjoy the time off.

What a Guy!
I just purchased Gene Watson's new CD and as usual Mr. Emmons is always the master.
Let's let him rest because he has probably "talked" more steel guitar than most of us have played one!
The Mrs. and myself were honored to set with Buddy Gene & Miss Peg at the convention in 99' and I tried to get him to autograph my Grandma's dentures, but, he had to go play with that ole' joker Darryl what's his name!
Take care Buddy & hope to see ya' again.

Gary Lee,
Grand Cru from Bourgogne or Chateauneuf du Pape are some of the best wines when dining.
Vouvray from Touraine can accompany a fine meal as well.
Sancerre is one of my favorites.
Often these Wines can be White or Red.
don't forget to open a good one when your Wife gets back....
this Vouvray 1947 is liquid Gold !
just as precious, better than Champagne
accompanies Salon Pickin' just fine...
