I'm baaaaack

Post by JB Arnold »

I've been away for a while-my wife was i a horrible car accident last july 25th-as you can see
Image

and that kind of took up a lot of time. She got t-boned at 65 mph just outside the house-I actually got home just as they were putting the car on the tow truck-and THAT was a freaky 15 minutes, let me tell you-because I was sure she was dead. Turns out she was at the hospital-Broken pelvis in 3 places, lacerated spleen, and other injuries-seat belt saved her life. But she's been off work since then, and so I never made it to St Louis as I was taking care of her-and my niece who now lives with us.

But things are now gettig back to normal-Lizzie goes back to work in 2 weeks, and shortly she'll be driving again-(as will my niece, so if you live out here, watch out). I WILL be in St Louis this year, and the web site will start getting updates again soon.

I did manage to keep gigging with Country Touch thru this whole mess, and I'd like to thank them for their patience-I made it to band rehearsals, but didn't get much practice in on my own, and my playing was less for it I'm sure. Gonna start working on that tomorrow with a seminar from Joe Wright at Dick Meis' steel shop.

I'd like to thank all the folks who DID know what happened for their support-Dick, Bob Blair, Neil Flanz, Buddy, DJ Rupert, the Castles, Chuck Lettes, et al-I wasn't very good at staying in touch, but the support was appreciated-and thanks to anyone else I forgot. I'm pretty fuzzy on most of the last half of last year. It was a bit of a blur.

But I'm back now, and I look forward to being back on the Forum, and back as an active member of the steel world. The Mark Van Allen interview should be starting in the PSG newsletter soon-finally-and I'll begin contributing there again too.

Thanks again. See you in the funny papers.

John (and Lizzie)

Man, great reminder that while you're slogging through your own dramas, all around you, life happens. Wow. So glad that you are reporting a happy story (I'm not being smartass). Heavy sh1t. Good to hear from you.

Welcome back JB!
I wondered where you've been.

I expected you to be the one that could answer my trivia question at http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum15/HTML/000876.html

Man, ya never know! I'm glad to hear things are getting back to normal for you and the Mrs.

Well, you still got time to post the answer.
No one else did.

See ya in St. Louis!

Thank God your wife is OK. I'm an EMT among several jobs and I hate arriving on a scene with a car that looks like that. Due to your advice I found the steel shop in Denver last month and had the great pleasure of spending an hour or so talking with Dick Meis.
