Sho-Bud of the Month - Lloyd Green at ISGC 2001

Post by Greg Simmons »

Alright, at long last the Sho-Bud of the Month page has been updated with photos of Lloyd Green playing his LDG at last year's International Steel Guitar Convention.
http://shobud.cjb.net and click on the "Sho-Bud of the Month" link.

Thanks to Red Kilby for supplying the photos Image

Well that brought a HUGE smile to my face; when smiles are hard to come by these days for me.
It warms my heart to see "The Man" playing "The Bud"........Thanks Greg for your great service to the heart.

Hello everyone, it was a real treat to put together these pictures and bio on this guitar. I am so glad you enjoy them. To all you folks that could not make it to the ISGA show in St.Louis this year you really missed out hearing "Mr Nashville Sound". The Sho-Bud sounded great, " I am so glad he is playing his OLD FRIEND again ". If you have not checked out what Greg has put together on his Sho-Bud site??? Believe me you must<<<<<<<. Take care, and Happy Holidays to everyone<<<<<<, RED KILBY<<<<<<<.

I enjoyed those pics a lot, too. Also the background info about Lloyd and his guitars is very interesting. I was surprised to read that he had just four Sho~Buds during his entire career. One thing that startles me, on the cover of his 1980 album "Lloyd´s of Nashville" he is pictured with an LDG that- at least on the photo- looks as if it is solid black. Now instead I suppose that it was the one he always played and the color was just a trick of the light. They never came in any colors other than green, did they?
Long live Lloyd and Sho~Buds are the greatest,
Joe H.

i believe Terry Wright plays a red(original) LDG-model.

Sho~Bud L.D.G.'s were available in other than the standard green finish. We have some pics of a couple or so black ones on Duane's Music site. http://www.duanesmusic.com/shobud.html

With Netscape, you can right click and choose "view image" to see a bigger, better pic.

I should add that the guitars on this page are NOT for sale...they are some that were previously sold by Duane.
