Vernon, His name is Ralph Land. He lived near me in Hendersonville, we were very good friends. He is an excellent drummer. He was also one third of the Curly Chalker trio for years. His phone number was one digit off from mine so I used to get a lot of his calls. He had a very out going personality,
and would do anything for anyone. A really great guy (as long as you agreed with him).
I miss him and don't really know where he is today however I do know that he was very sick for a while and had serious on going problems. I hope he is still with us. Possibly Stu Basore,Weldon, Hal,Or another member of the older establishment can fill us in on this great legend of the steel guitar backup world. I sure would like to know.
Thank you Vernon. You are a great guy with a BIG heart. Lets find out where he is.

I was told , a couple of years ago, that he was in the St Louis area. I don't know that as a fact. Perhaps Scotty would know??? I haven't seen Ralph since he and I and I think Johnny Gore were pall bearers for Jimmy Bryant. Yes, Bobbe, he was a good drummer and a whole bunch of fun. I really don't remember a lot of the things we did...some of those days were kinda foggy.
I think we had fun...regards, fred
p.s. I think he was having health problems.
