I traveled a couple of hours South yesterday and attended the SE Texas Steel Guitar Club Meeting in Magnolia, Tx. The featured player was a young fellow named Cameron Parsons.
Cameron has only been playing steel about ten years. He exhibits a mastery of the steel which goes far beyond his years. A bass playing friend of mine had raved to me about this fellow...he wasn't kidding. I believe we will hear much more from this young man in the years to come.

Thank you, Steve, for your far-too-generous compliments. I am grateful for everyone's support at yesterday's meeting. I was a bit nervous because I am not used to being on center stage and talking to the audience. However, I really enjoyed playing, and I think it is great that steel players in our area have a place to go and network with each other. Thanks again, Steve, and please give Joseph my regards.
[This message was edited by Cameron Parsons on 26 November 2001 at 01:15 PM.]
