You guys have been great in the past, and, I have no doubt you’ll rise to the occasion, and come to my inquizative mind rescue, wunstaggin: Where are these guys? I saw Hicks when I was at ISGC 3 years ago.
Heard McCoy was big in Europe and/or Japan. But what about the rest? (Moss, Hartman, Newell, et.al) Are they on the road? In Branson? Livin w/mom? Er, what?

Barefoot Jerry did some neat stuff 'way back then. Very "70's" sounding...somewhat reminiscent of the stuff Jerry Reed did. It was It was a bluesy-funky kinda southern swamp-rock sound. I'm sure it would go over big today, in the right market. The steelers (Weldon, and Russ Hicks) were successful at getting some different and "modern" sounds, but sadly...nobody paid much attention.

It's ironic that you would ask at this time.
McCoy, Hicks, and Moss are presently in Japan on a 2 week tour as "Barefoot Jerry".
Charlie, Russ, and Laney also were in Sweden for a couple of weeks in Mid August.
Charlie still books several jobs per year.
Fred is playing steel for Porter Waggoner.

Jim Colvard! who was the best Guitar player ever to hit Nashville! Passed away in 77 "In Nisswa, Mn." He was also the first guitar player I worked with! He was the Heart&Soul of the BFJ band! I recently sent a tape of Colvard&myself cut in 61 "when Jim was 18" to forumite Larry Miller,[Jim played more guitar then than most play today]"He cut 6 Days on the road w/Dudley, at age 20& developed that Popping sound!
