Steel player needed in Albuquerque, NM

Post by Chas Holman »

Guys,

Ty Phillips & Goldrush is tentatively booked at Cowboys in Albuquerque for Oct. 31 thru Nov. 3. I can't do the gig and anybody who might be interested, please let me know... ASAP..!

Good band - standards, lots of Tracy Byrd, Mark Chestnut, Clay Walker, Geo. Strait, Gary Allan, Hank, Jr., Alan Jackson, Dwight, yadda-yadda....

Nice club, fair sound system, had loads of fun last time out there.

Chas,

Thats not too bad of a run for me out there. Get em to contact me. I might pull a few strings if the $$ were right and go on out there and give em a show. steelman_5@hotmail.com. Tell us more about it. Sounds like a good job. Thanks Bill

Someone out in W. TX. or NM should jump on this job. Sounds like a good deal. I can't swing it Chas. Thought maybe I could rearrange my schedule, but I'm too tied up between my day gig and my other band jobs. Thanks anyway. Regards.

Hi Chas, I met you in the Spring up at the Grizzly Rose. If you are still needing someone to cover that gig for you I would possibly be able to cover it. Have some vacation time to burn anyway. I heard three of your sets if it is the same band that was at the Rose and do not see a problem covering the material. A Set list would help. I have most of the CD's by the artist you mentenioned so I could bone up if needed.

E-mail or call at 719-596-0509 if I can help you out with this.

Thanks, George

Love that post Bill! I know a guy right here that could put on a Gorilla suit and go give them a show playing steel but right now he's playing the part of an ass!

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the responses and e-mails, but it looks like Ty and the band have decided not to do the Albuquerque gig after all. Turns out they'll be breaking in a new drummer at the same time and I guess "new drummer" plus "sit in steel player" was just too much for them to deal with.

Hey, Tony...! I figured by now YOU were New Mexico's "finest steel player"... keep on pickin', my friend... see you down the road,

-Chas
