I heard an old cut of theirs this morning and was reminded of the great steel work on those albums. I forget who it was though. Help me through my "senior moment" here and refresh my memory. I just loved that bouncy bubbly steel work
Jim, For some reason, I seem to recall that it was not JD. The person who played steel on the albums also toured with them. I remember Paulette stating "He's our secret weapon"
For some reason, Steve Fishell is the back of my mind. Course, that may be totally incorrect. I have all of these at home and will look at the liner notes tonite.
If it's the first albums you're talking about, it was definitely Jay Dee and Tommy Spurlock. I saw them open for George Strait way back when...a great band.
just got home and pulled out the CDs. Tommy Spurlock, JD, and BE. Where in the heck did I come up with Steve Fishell? HA!
Anyway, this is some good steel playing.
If my memory serves me correctly, Steve Fishell played on some Ricky Van Shelton stuff.
[This message was edited by Larry Miller on 24 October 2001 at 03:48 AM.]
