Ricky Davis & Dale Watson

Post by Marco Schouten »

Last Thursday I went to see Ricky and Dale.
It was a great performance. Ricky is on front row on stage, facing the audience and he is all over every song. If you have a chance go and see them, you won't regret it!
Needless to say Ricky was milking his Sho-Bud to the last drop. He's also a great guy to talk with.
Thanks Ricky!

Hi Folks, I'm a friend of Ricky's. When you see him, would you please tell him that I said hello, and to have fun, and have a safe trip back home? Enjoy the show! Martin! You don't know what you've missed.
For all of you who are smarter than Martin (I'll rub it in!), Ricky was sitting on the right of the stage, seen from where the audience is. I tell you once more, if you were in doubt to go than GO!
Ricky has his own unique sound.

Hey thanks Marco for the kind words. It was great meeting you in person and we are having a blast over here. I'm in Scottland right now and on our way to Spain then England and finish up with Sweden. I'll be back in the States the 30th;;;; then I'm done... I'm tooo old...ha...to actually carry my shobud on my back around the world. Country Music don't pay; so we don't get to travel easy at all...and guess who choose the biggest musical instrument????Well I love the sound but I am not carring my steel all over Europe EVER again.
See ya when you Europeans come over to the states and it's been a great 9 visits for me.
Oh and Dale says thanks for the birthday wishes.
Later.

Alright, Ricky. I couldn´t make it, unfortunately. I always figured if I ever see you in person it´s gonna be in some honky-tonk in Texas. But if you ever change your mind (about not touring Europe again) there´s a place here in Munich called the Rattlesnake Saloon that looks JUST LIKE THAT; at least that´s what Rocky Burnette and Paul Burlison said when they played there last year.
Have a good time, Joe H.

I went to see Ricky and Dale last evening in Sheffield. What a class act they are, Rickys steel playing was perfect and so was Dales singing and guitar playing. The two of them understand each other perfectly and each plays of the others licks.

The drummer and bass player also fitted in perfectly.

I managed to have a word with Ricky and he is a real nice guy.

They are in London for the next 3 nights at the Borderline, if you get chance - make the effort to go see them - it is well worth it.
