Is that the Curtis Potter who was the bandleader for Hank Thompson in the 1960s?

Well, You Texas folks are sure blessed....What a combination, Justin Trevino and Ralph Mooney . Boy I would love to see and hear that one. Wouldn't it be great to have a CD of Justin doing vocals backed by the Moon? I would be first in line to buy that one. Regards....Rick Jackson

Couple other names mentioned that will be there....Jerry Max Lane, Tony Douglas, Curtis Potter, Justin Trevino, Jake Hooker, Jerry Nail, Reggie Brown, bunch of others. Rausch is in NM, so won't be able to make it.

I just got home from the show and it was great! ImageI got to renew acquaintances with guys I haven't seen for years and met some I had heard but not met before.

The venue was great, 42 singers at two songs apiece. The backup band was only four pieces: Jake Hooker on bass (with Justin Trevino spelling him once in a while), Jim Loessberg (sp?) on drums, a fiddle player whose name I didn't catch, and the great Gary Carpenter on steel carrying 90% of the leads (who needs a guitar player?!?). They played the whole nine hours and did two or three tunes every set, definitely the highlight of the day! Image

Mr. Moon was great as usual and the vocalists sang some great Buck Owens and Wynn Stewart tunes to let Ralph show off.

The only disappointment was that Curtis Potter only got to sing two songs just like all the rest. Image

I was traveling back to good old Oklahoma from Midland and just happend across this gathering. I didn't get to listen to much of it, and had to look pretty hard and heavy on the Forum to find out what in the world I'd been listening to. Let me rephrase that--To find out what GATHERING I had been listening to. I caught the intro to ol' Moon, and just a song or two after that. The radio mix was pretty bad, with no rhythm guitar or bass--just drums, vocals, and steel.

Jason, sorry about the mix. This is a small FM radio station with what seemed to be semi-professionals running the sound. I'm not sure that they'd ever done a remote broadcast before.

There was no rhythm guitar but I assure you that between Jake Hooker and Justin Trevino on bass, and Jim Loessberg on drums, the rhythm section couldn't have been tighter! Image

Ummm, I had the "opportunity" to work with this sound crew one time on a Janie show. You're being way to kind. Incidently, the station is going to 100k watts in Dec. according to Joe. For anyone who is travelling the west side of Ft. Worth and continuing west, dial up 95.9 on Sunday afternoons from 12-4p. Tons of Buck Owens, Price, Bush, McCall, steel instrumentals, etc. Steel guitar has no greater friend than "The Mayor", Joe Bielinski......
