Help with songs

I programmed BIAB so I could play these two songs and I think I have reversed the chorus
(bridge). One is "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" and the other is "Sunnyside Of The Street". In order not to have to go thru a bunch of albums I would appreciate someone telling me on either of the above songs does the bridge start with the (1) chord or the (4) chord. I remember one of them has the progression on the bridge, 1,4,2,5 and the other is 4, 1, 4, 5 or possibly (4125) Please tell me which goes to which song. I am sitting here playing both and probably putting the wrong bridge to both. Help please ASAP so I won't wonder about it all night. I am standing by!

Jerry- I played them both in the old days. Sunnyside of the street bridge starts with the 1-7 chord. OK? Dont get around much anynore goes to the 4 chord on the bridge .Happy pickin.....al

Dear Jerry,

I don't normally comment about things very often, but I thought I would interject something to make it even more confusing! I play "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" at a lot of the jam sessions we do, and I know of at least three variations of the chord progression on the bridge. It does start on a 4 chord as Al mentioned but after that it can be different. I have played this with Hal Rugg, Doug Jernigan, Roy Rosetta and many others and most of the time we will briefly discuss which bridge we are going to play.

As far as "Sunnyside Of The Street", I haven't played it in a while, so I won't comment on it; however, I do have both tunes tabbed out.

I guess that's it for now.

Thanks Herby and once again to you Al. I had two "bridges" in my mind and just was not sure which one went with which song. I am set to go I think. Herby, I am also glad to know that there are more than one version because I felt that I had heard it played
4145 and also 4125, of course I am using just major chords for example and not trying to embelish them any in this discussion.

I'm 200% confident in Herby Wallace's expertise as a master musician here.

I'll just mention, tho, that the arrangement of "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" I'm hearing in my head right now, was done by Ray Price with a big band. That one, so far as I can trust my memory, started the bridge with the I chord (dom. 7th). A nice alternative arrangement.

My memory of "Sunnyside Of The Street" is even dimmer. (Haven't heard it in years.) Seems to me, however, that its bridge also starts on the I chord (dom. 7th) - and my ear tells me either a sus. note should be squeezed into that chord, or it could be alternated with a V minor 7th. I don't put a lot of stock in the accuracy of printed sheet music. I've seen sheet music of a song that I wrote that was screwed up by the manuscript writer. The sheet music could be the way a particular manuscript writer or musician sees or hears that particular piece of music at that particular time.

With all due respect to those who have replied to this inquiry, I have always sung and played those 2 song thusly:

"Sunny Side Of The Street"
I use to (I7)walk in the shade
with those (IV)blues on parade
Now (II)I'm not afraid
This (V)rover crossed over

And:

"Don't Get Around Much Anymore"
My (I7)darling I guess
My (IV)mind's more at ease
But (II)never the less
(V)Why stir up old memories

So, they both have a I, IV, II, V chord patterns on the bridge.

I don't think I've had my head stuck in the sand, but I don't recall ever hearing either song played any other way.

But, then I've been wrong before. Now If I could just remember when, dang it.

Thanks for all the help guys. Doug, thanks for the email also. I feel comfortable playing these two tunes without feeling that they may be wrong. Herby, I am looking forward to seeing you and hearing you again in Hot Springs in a couple of weeks. Who knows, I might play one of these songs for you and you can play "Four Wheel Drive" for me!
