Steel Guitar Nashville.anybody?

Post by Jeff Peterson »

I think just about everybody knows that Steel Guitar Nashville=Bobbe Seymour, right? Well, if you go to Steel Guitar Nashville.com..........you get a Carter site showing a picture of Bobbe's X-wife sitting at a Carter steel.....bizarre!! What can this mean? What's the premise? What's the point? Are they trying to hurt Bobbe in some way? How can they use the 'Steel Guitar Nashville' name like that, when most everyone knows that's the name of Bobbe's shop? If you click on their link, you get a list of stores all around Nashville.....but not Bobbe's! This sucks, and I don't mind sayin' it. To use the name.....a picture of Bobbe's ex-wife, and not to even come close to a 'tongue-in-cheek' , really gets my panties in a bunch. Most players know that the Fabians have almost every 'steel' related site registered....but this, it just has really left me wondering about all the so-called 'steel guitar community' feelings and 'working for the good of the steel community'.
I'm playing this Sat. at the Smirnoff Amphitheater in Dallas, and I'd just love to hear an explaination in person. I'll be easy to find.....I'll be the angry guy by the stage door.........

I agree, that's a very low blow! Image The source for that page says "by Studio VII Sparber001" so maybe that's who wrote the page.

Jeff works for Bobbe so he does know the URL for his own store, but apparently steelguitarnashville dot net was also taken by "someone".

These days, domain names are of less value than actual search engine rankings. Someone could very well type "pedalsteel" instead of "steelguitar" and end up at someone else's site.

Looks like it may have been removed, I just went there and it didn't have any pictures on the site, just said "stay tuned for further developments".

This is really between the parties involved, who are all friends of the Forum. Since no good can come from public discussion of this issue, I'm closing the topic.
